Cabling

CABLING:  Trees with codominant (double) stems are oftentimes weak and prone to failure at their junction.  To address this, we cable the stems together high in the canopy.  This does not “fix” the tree, but reduces the chance of failure during severe snow and wind events.  Our system uses 5/16″ galvanized steel cable fastened with steel lags.  Once a tree is cabled, it should be inspected periodically to ensure the hardware is secure and functioning properly.
